Oh man...what a biryani it was. Excellent taste. Just got Hyderabad vibes. Try to Maintain the same quality, unlike restaurants in Dallas. I came there to visit a friend and it was best food here.

Food here is great. I tried mandi here and it was really delicious. One of the best mandi I had in New Jersey so far. Pankaj was an amazing host, he gave us amazing recommendations for food and took great care of us. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get a good food experience to visit this place.

I had the mutton shank Mandi at Desi Dhamaka and it was absolutely amazing. The meat was fall off the bone tender, packed with flavor, and perfectly paired with the rice. Easily one of the best Mandis I’ve ever had. On top of that, Pankaj was a great host and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!

Mandi is the best

Got the chicken biryani and gutti vankaya biryani. Enjoyed the heat and flavor in the gutti vankaya though I felt the ground spices kinda overpowered the dish. Either way, I highly recommend it! Raita and salan were exceptional too. Also got the chilly lotus root and though it was good, I prefer a non-deep fried version. Our server was polite and attentive, totally loved his service! There’s lots of seating space as well. Menu is pretty extensive and price point is great! Taking into consideration the factors I mentioned, I’d choose this restaurant over any other restaurant in the Edison area for biryani! Definitely check them out if you’re into authentic Andhra food, you won’t be disappointed.

This restaurant is the best Indian eatery I have been to. The service was superb, the food was so delish and the mutton sukka is a must! Along with the goat paya soup! The staff is so friendly. This would be a perfect date night for a couple and/or a family gathering. I highly recommend this place! You will not regret it.

During a recent trip from Toronto to New Jersey, I had the pleasure of having lunch at Desi Dhamaka, located at 6001 Hadley Rd, South Plainfield – and it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable meals I’ve had. The flavors were so bold and authentic that comparing it to food back home in Toronto wouldn’t be fair. This restaurant sets a whole new standard for Indian cuisine in North America. We began our meal with appetizers that were absolute showstoppers. The Lotus Root Fry was perfectly crisp, with a unique texture and deep, spicy flavor. The Karivepaku Kodi Fry (curry leaf chicken fry) was bursting with South Indian soul – spicy, aromatic, and incredibly satisfying. Then came the mains – and they completely stole the show. The Potlam Biryani, wrapped delicately in an omelette, was not only visually stunning but packed with layers of rich, complex flavors. The Mandi was equally outstanding – the rice was fragrant and flavourful (definitely not bland), with every bite infused with the essence of expertly blended spices and tender meat. We ended on a sweet note with some delightful desserts, and just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the Paan and Goli Soda were served – a nostalgic and authentic Indian touch that brought the whole experience full circle. What made the visit even more special was meeting Chandrakanth, the passionate soul behind Desi Dhamaka. His warmth, dedication, and love for food shine through in every dish. It’s clear that he’s not just running a restaurant – he’s creating an experience rooted in tradition and flavor. Hats off to him for bringing such quality and authenticity to the table. And to top it all off, the cost was very economical – great food, generous portions, and honest pricing. Whether you’re local or visiting from out of town like we were, Desi Dhamaka is a must-visit.
